Why choose Hereford Vision & The Wye Clinic…

Certainty

At every scheduled visit you will see an experienced consultant, from your initial assessment, through treatment and on to your last visit.

Quality

Experienced consultant surgery. There are no trainee doctors, no compromise and round-the-clock care.

Choice

Bespoke lens replacement surgery is performed when needed using special multifocal astigmatic correction (toric) lenses. This is not available in the modern NHS, except in highly unusual circumstances.

Facilities

In partnership with The Wye Clinic, we have access to state-of-the-art equipment to make your surgery as safe as possible.

Image guidance technology

Hereford Vision is unique locally in offering image-guidance technology as standard as part of your cataract/ lens surgical experience.

No need to travel

Hereford Vision’s innovative approach means that treatments previously only available in larger cities can now be accessed here in Hereford.

Excellent value

We believe that Hereford Vision offers the best value surgical eye healthcare in the Midlands. Our location in The Wye Clinic means that costs are typically lower than elsewhere in the region.

No bars to treatment

Local ‘low priority treatment criteria’, namely healthcare rationing for conditions such as cataract and eyelid lumps, do not apply to patients seeking private medical assessment. Hereford Vision allows you to access the healthcare you need when you want it.

Do watch our patient testimonial videos for an independent view on a wide range of our services.

No waiting lists

What’s the cost?

The fees associated with private healthcare are typically very affordable for an outpatient-based specialty like ophthalmology. We are delighted to see self-funding patients, as well as all patients with medical insurance. An initial consultation with the Hereford Vision team starts at £250.

Unfortunately, patients who are insured with some organisations may find themselves underinsured after unilateral reductions by their insurers in reimbursements for surgical procedures nationwide. Some insurers may attempt to warn their customers that our surgeons are not 'fee-assured' or 'quality-assured': please do not be put off by attempts to divert your care to a potentially less experienced surgeon outside the county.

Central location with Finance options available

You will easily find us in central Hereford with plenty of on-site parking, very close to the new development, Old Market Shopping Centre & Waitrose. There is no need for a referral, nor do you need to have private medical insurance and finance options are available for all our procedures, if required. Click here for more information.
