Dr Holly Vaughan
MBCHB DFRSH RCGP
Member of the British Menopause Society and holder of the British Menopause Society Advanced Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care.
Holly’s medical journey started at Leicester Medical School in 2004 continuing on to the West Midlands where she completed her training as a GP, becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2014. She then made her way home to Herefordshire, joining a local GP surgery.
Women’s health has always been a keen interest of hers. She is an educator in family planning and sexual health, coil and implant fitting, as well as a tutor to GP trainees.
Holly’s dedication to helping women with the menopause was born out of seeing countless struggling women in her practice.
Acutely aware of the widespread misinformation resulting in a legacy of fear, Holly developed her expertise and holds the British Menopause Society Advanced Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care.
Harnessing her passion and skills, Holly takes a holistic approach using her training with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine to help women understand all aspects of their health and well-being. They can then better navigate their individual journey through the perimenopause.
Empowering women to make positive, personalised choices, Holly firmly believes medicine is more than just treating illness; it is about communicating and connecting with the individual.
Holly is a proud mum of two young children and a small family business owner. She understands how important ‘feeling like you’ is.
Corporate Services and Partnerships
- Creating a Menopause-Friendly Workplace
Menopause can have a significant impact on employees, affecting well-being, confidence, and performance at work. With women aged 50-64 being the fastest-growing workforce demographic, employers have a unique opportunity to provide the right support – and benefit from improved retention, productivity, and morale.
However, many workplaces are not yet equipped to help:
• 80% of menopausal women say their workplace offers no support.
• 41% report their symptoms being dismissed or joked about.
• 1 in 3 women aged 50-64 have taken time off due to symptoms, contributing to an estimated 14 million lost workdays per year.
• Over 370,000 women have left or considered leaving their jobs due to a lack of workplace support.
A lack of awareness or resources can lead to increased absenteeism, reduced productivity, and higher staff turnover. But small, practical changes can make a big difference in helping employees feel supported and valued.
