You will not usually be required to pay a fee to access your personal data, although we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee or refuse a request where it is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Financial information regarding Hereford Vision Surgical Group & The Wye Clinic
Hereford Vision Surgical Group Ltd is a private limited company owned equally by two shareholder companies: SN & AC Madge Limited and B While & N Charlwood Limited, each of which owns 50% of the issued share capital of Hereford Vision Surgical Group Ltd. These companies are owned by the families of Mr Simon Madge and Mr Ben While respectively. Clinicians practising at The Wye Clinic who hold a financial interest in the clinic do so through these shareholdings. A proportion of the fees charged by each clinician working within Hereford Vision Surgical Group Ltd are retained by the company.
Hereford Vision Surgical Group Ltd owns the building and a variety of equipment at The Wye Clinic where procedures may take place, including a surgical microscope, laminar air flow machine and reclining procedure chair. In addition, Hereford Vision Surgical Group Ltd uses a Stellaris cataract machine, the use and purchase of which are funded through the purchase of related consumable products. Furthermore, for patients undergoing cataract or lens surgery, Hereford Vision Surgical Group Ltd uses the Alcon Verion image-guidance system, the use of which is funded through the purchase of Alcon intraocular lenses. This does not preclude the use of alternative intraocular lens products where clinically appropriate.
Any consulting rooms, administrative support services or other higher-value services provided to clinicians are made available on a non-discriminatory basis, on equivalent terms, and at fair market value in accordance with Article 16 of the CMA Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014.
In accordance with the CMA Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014, Hereford Vision Surgical Group Ltd may from time to time receive or provide low-value services or benefits that are permitted under the Order and are directly related to the safe, efficient and effective provision of patient care. These may include general training, administrative support, catering and hospitality of a reasonable and proportionate nature, marketing materials, educational events, conferences, professional meetings, and the use of equipment or facilities associated with clinical activity.
Where specific events involving hospitality or educational support are provided, a summary description of the event together with the associated cost will be published periodically on the clinic website in accordance with applicable CMA requirements.
The company reviews such arrangements periodically to ensure ongoing compliance with CMA requirements and maintains that no such arrangement is intended to influence clinical decision-making, referral behaviour or patient choice. This statement is reviewed annually.
